The wind last night was ferocious. I am surprised all the sheds in the street didn't take off! Luckily I did manage to sleep, it was just a bit scary when I woke up in the night. The morning was a bit grey and I did get wet walking to see the girls in the studio. They were just open for folk to collect their items. They are closing now until the 7th January. I went through town to drop off some old reading glasses at the opticians then back via Dean Road to collect the meat. The Boneless turkey breast is huge, hopefully we have a roasting tray big enough! I made a sponge this afternoon and it is the worst one I have ever made, I must have made thousands of sponges, got a new cooker and now I can't cook!! The mince pies look edible but the proof of the pudding will be eating them. I started a postcard sized lino cut before I went out and finished it off this afternoon.
I didn't use enough ink on the first print so the second one is better. Pretty pleased with the result for a first attempt, so maybe I will be a success at that as I can't bake any more!!
Darren and I will go along to the midnight service tonight, Tina is taking communion I believe. she is preaching at the Christmas day service.
Oh sorry to hear the cooker takes a bit more getting used to, sure you will conquer it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the Christmas service, always heart warming. Xx
Will do, have a lovely Christmas. xxx
ReplyDeleteAs Hazel says, you'll soon get used to it, and be turning out cakes by the dozen, which will please Darren :-)
ReplyDeleteThe lino print is really good. Another craft for you to fit into your schedule!
