I have had a pretty quiet day today, the morning started grey but dry, but by the time Tina dropped me off in town at about 9.45 am the drizzle had begun and it wasn't long before it was tipping down. It has remained windy and very wet all day with no signs of it improving any time soon! I had a cloth, fold up bag with me in town, but my shopping was getting wet so I bought two more strong shopping bags, have enough to supply the street! Even with the new bags I didn't manage to keep my purchases completely dry on the way home, and I was walking slowly as I felt really tired today. When Tina got home from her meeting she asked if I would take a photograph of her Christmas cactus, a rather neglected plant that is absolutely blooming at the moment!
I had an offer for extra points at Sainsbury's so the three of us went there for dinner and then did quite a big shop, some of it stuff for the Christmas festivities. It was raining very hard by then so we all scrambled to get the bags into the car, and out again when we got home, as quickly as possible. Luckily there was a space quite close to the house! I really liked all the lino cut prints at the gallery on Thursday and when we went to Meadowhall yesterday I managed to get a some basic equipment for making craft stamps, the more advanced stuff will be much later. This morning I had a go at cutting one of the small discs to get the feel of the tools and technique. Very simple result but a start!
Strictly tonight, should be a really good show, who will end up in the dreaded dance off?
Christmas cactus are very hardy, lovely colour. I'm sure your make a good job of the Lino printing. After last weeks strictly it's anyone's guess who will survive.
ReplyDeleteLittle drizzle here but dull most of the day. Tomorrow's weather should be similar. Xx
Will give it a good try! Yes, the closest competition ever I think. xxx
ReplyDeleteMy Christmas cactus finally gave up a couple of years ago. It used to bloom really nicely. I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did, as I'm useless with plants!
ReplyDeleteThe first Lino cutting attempt is a very good start. Looks great. The castle will be a doddle! You know I'll keep on about it until you actually do it :-)
I know, will do my best to ignore you!!
