Yesterday evening, even though it was raining, I decided to go down to the hut to see if anything was going on in the bay as it was firework night. I tried taking low light pictures, going to try and start using the different functions.
There was a bonfire on the beach and a bit later another one was set. I also tried to catch fireworks, without a lot of success, and I didn't want the camera getting too wet!

Tina dropped me in town today and I took the shopping trolley as I had missed a parcel yesterday and I was expecting a couple of fairly big packages. It was quite funny when the package was actually a mug! Mike had told me about an offer to get a photo mug done at a very reasonable price, so I decided to get some of those sunset pictures on one!
Very happy with that, I have seen some great skies since I lived here. I did some shopping and then decided to call in at the ceramic studio. It was a nice surprise to see the cross I had painted, still not fired, in the remembrance window display.
Sandy was on her won when I arrived so I decided to find something to paint. They have had a couple of plaques there for a while and I have often been tempted to paint the unicorn, even though it is a bit intricate.  Ended up painting for getting on for three hours and now have another thing to go in the kiln next time they are firing.

  1. Considering the camera is new, and you've just started out using a tripod and the new camera functions, and the fact it was terrible weather, I think your first attempt at firework pictures is very good. It's not an easy task at the best of times. I'm still looking forward to "testing" it for myself :-)

The mug turned out well, and was a bargain to boot! The one I had done is still in one piece too, so that's a bonus.

The plaque looks extremely delicate. I'm glad I'm not the one having to put it in the kiln!

    1. I am enjoying using the camera, will hopefully practice on some different scenes next week! I enjoyed doing the plaque, I hadn't been for a while when I went back last week so am enjoying going there again.
