I went to the shop and then prepared something for dinner as Darren goes out and I wasn’t sure how long Jean would come for this afternoon. Terry dropped her off and she stayed for a couple of hours, then he collected her. She is having trouble with one of her knees as well so cannot manage much walking.
I had been thinking about gardening and how to do the weeding. I cannot kneel so there stool/kneeling pad isn’t too useful. But I have foam left from making a window seat cover and wondered if I made a deep cushion for it maybe I could rest on it. I got the foam out and tried to cut some pieces of similar size to make a deep cushion. Need to work out what material to use and work out ties to keep it in place. May not work but worth a try!
I took a photo of the back garden through the landing window, shows the beds better.
I have been trying to get the number of the She-can gardener but not in the local traders booklet or the local paper. Bel said she would ask her neighbour who phones her for a chat every evening and has lived in the town for a long time. I looked out of the window this evening and her van was parked in view on the road so ai now have the number in case I decide I need some help with the weeding.
The knee isn’t good this evening, feeling like it wants to give out on me again, so not moving about much tonight.
Will finish with another memory photo, didn’t catch many of sparrows when I was taking bird pics more regularly.
Made a change for you to have visitors coming to you. I’m sure you gossiped and drank tea just as much though 😄
ReplyDeleteYou are very inventive when it comes to things like the still. It sounds like it could be quite a good idea. Trouble is it might encourage you to do too much gardening, which isn’t such a good idea. Although now you have the number of the gardener that could be the answer. It’d be interesting to see how much they charge. You could tot up how many hours you’ve done out there then, and how rich you’d be! The photo from the window looked odd to me to start with. Not used to seeing it from that viewpoint. That’s a lot of garden! The beds are looking good though.
Hope the knee feels a bit better tomorrow 🤞
You got some really good bird close ups when you used the big camera and monopod. May you should dust the cobwebs off it this summer. If summer ever gets here!
Yes, it made a change for both the friends to come here and yes tea and chat was the order of the day!
ReplyDeleteI may sort out material over the weekend and see how it goes with the stool.
Fingers crossed the knee will settle again tomorrow.
