Tip trip and museum visit

I had told Darren I wanted to get to the tip today as we had a broken airer and an exercise bike to go. I decided to empty out a cupboard where there was a broken table and lots of very large boxes. Broke the boxes down so the cardboard was all in one box and then took the screwdriver and hammer to the table!
After Darren hd been to the gym we loaded the car up and took a trip to the tip, that was a good job done.
The bird buddy needed charging nd when it was ready to go I took it out into the garden. I went to get seed out of the store. A squirrel scurried out a hole that has made the store completely useless! I have now had to move it all back into the greenhouse for now except the ammo box!
I will look into getting a metal store use the greenhouse for plants while the bird food is in there as if I leave the window open a fraction or the door the squirrels run havoc in there!
I went down to the shop with some soft plastic to recycle a they have a bin near the entrance. The museum had a special event on and for the first time in its history they had people in costume in all the rooms and were selling drinks and cakes. I had a wander round so will now just overload you with pics!

Sat at a desk in the school room, there were slates to write on. The writing tool was slate as well, made a good mark and the rubbed off easily with a dry cloth.

That picture of the museum was edible!
There is an exhibition of Hornsea pottery over the years, and other collectible pottery.

Loved these painted tiles.
Last one before leaving.

Beautiful open tulips in the garden as I came back in.
Went out in the garden for a while to sit on the swing. I liked the look of the trees overhead.
Will finish with a pen sketch I did while sitting in the garden.

  1. You destructive bugger! Bet you enjoyed breaking stuff up. You definitely don’t like sitting around doing nothing 😊 Just don’t start dismantling other stuff around the house when you’re bored! Good job Darren was around for a trip to the tip.
Those squirrels are terrible! You’ll definitely need a large metal storage container. I think that one has seen better days. I hope they don’t get into the greenhouse.
The museum events looks good. Don’t apologise for too many pics, they’re interesting.
What is the man weaving? I don’t know why, but I thought it looked like braces. Like the Anderson shelter too.
Bet the slate in school brought back memories for you 😂 We had progressed to the dip pens and inkwells when I started school.
The edible picture on the cake is a nice touch. They really pushed the boat out.
Some of the pottery is really nice. I like the fish and butterfly on what look like plaques/plates. The tiled fox is lovely too.
What a great little exhibition. I’d have enjoyed having a wander around there myself.
I like the trees in the garden too. The even blue sky behind makes them really stand out.
A sketch too. You have had a good day. Achievements and enjoyment, plus loads of pic opportunities. You could do with more days like that.

  2. I think it may have been a belt, he was trying to weave the word Hornsea into the design.
I hadn’t been in the museum for a while, I didn’t go upstairs this time a the leg has been quite painful today.
I did enjoy breaking the table up!
I have started searching for an appropriate metal storage cupboard. I do like to see the squirrels, but the damage to my lovely cupboard has been a pain!
