This morning I was helping get people seated at All Saints Church in Skipsea for a funeral. These days people can’t just wander in and sit where they want so I had a seat plan. It is such a pretty little church so will add a few photos, one thought the arched entrance, it is way out of the village.
This afternoon I did do some hoeing and pruning in the front garden but only for about an hour as it was really quite hot in the sun. Haven’t seen that many ladybirds lately.
I sat out on the swing seat for a while, with my big floppy hat and with Pandora for company some of the time. I read a few more pages of the Richard Osman book which I am enjoying, collected a few mor tomatoes, that have done pretty well this year and still a few more to ripen.
The second part of Honour tonight, sad but very interesting.
Didn’t know it was Michaelmas, and don’t know what Michaelmas is. You’d think I would really with it being my namesake. Pretty flowers though.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a lovely little church. Your pics definitely do it justice. I think the one of the church with the path leading up to it is really cracking. That could easily be a postcard picture.
Glad you didn’t spend too long gardening. Definitely showing off regarding the hot sun etc. We’ve had a little but not as much as you by the sounds of it. Make the most of it while you can. Don’t think you’ll be swinging on that seat when there’s six inches of snow on the ground!
Enjoy your program, I may catch it on catchup sometime.
The Feast of Michael and All Angels. I went to St Michael’s primary school and we wore Michaelmas daisies and went to church this day. Our uniform was even purple and gold like the flowers!
ReplyDeleteI think the weather is about to change again so he’s, will get on that swing while I can.
