How much is that doggy in the window?

This morning I had an appointment for my flu jab. Had to get back as someone was collecting the keys for the parish hall and also a delivery was expected some time during the morning. I would have walked on to post a package to America but thought I would go out again when the package had arrived. Knee was very bad today so sorted out the walking stick which certainly helped. The pharmacist had phoned to ask me all the questions earlier so I was literally in, temperature taken and injection done, very well organised. On the way there I pass the second hand shop, not that everything is second hand but he does do house clearance. There have been some dog ornaments in the window for some time. Mostly bull dogs which didn’t appeal to me, and they were big and expensive. But there was one little fella, the only small one left, and I did ask about it a few days ago. Today I felt like I needed cheering up so the little chap is home with me now, probably never bought a dog ornament before!
How adorable!
The package arrived fairly early so set off with the parcel to send, it was raining by then but not heavily.  When I had sent it and got over the shock of the postage I made my way up to the sea front. Had lunch, egg and chips at Lily’s cafe as I knew walking straight back would not be a good idea. I did use the walking stick again, very glad of it today. I took a few pics of the sea and then made my way home.

Took a picture of a dank and not very autumnal memorial garden on the way home. The wind has taken a lot of the leaves before they had a chance to turn.
Have pottered around this afternoon getting a few chores done interspersed with a bit of reading!

  1. My doctors rang me today to ask if I wanted a flu jab, so hopefully I’ll get it next week. I’ve heard that a lot of people are not going to have one and aren’t going to have any COVID ones either, idiots! More for us 😊
The dog is very unusual, but nice. I can see why you were tempted.
You’ve done a fair bit of walking today considering your legs haven’t been so good lately. At least the stick got a bit of use. Egg and chips out for lunch is always good, but I think your spell checker had a good sense of humour as it changed it to egret and chips, must try that it sounds good 😊
Those seafront pics today look more a British seaside, gloomy and dismal. We’ve done well though lately. At least rain means no watering for you.

  2. Have just corrected the text, was quite an interesting substitute though.
The dogs sad little face is looking at me, must find him a home.
It was quite a dismal day and it is much cooler, but not really cold yet.
Just had fox food to put out tonight, that is getting nearly as expensive as the bird food!!
