I did a few chores and then went round to the church to help Tina clean after the service as she has a funeral tomorrow. I used the cleansing fluid and Tina followed behind with the water to rinse it off, it didn’t take us too long.
After lunch I went out into the front garden, I didn’t take pictures but worked along the side by the stone wall weeding and cutting back and staking the plants that had been blown over with the winds. The bindweed has really taken over along that side.
When I was getting the tools put away I noticed this fly, but not a run of the mill one, in the walled garden.
The tomatoes haven’t been abundant, but have had a few, picked these today.
I have had a couple of bird food deliveries so got those down into the greenhouse. Then I listened to a Sherlock Holmes radio program on the tape machine I got at the boot sale.
Have had a little play tonight and have done an illustrated letter on a very small canvas.
Will put a Lewis on tv and write a couple of letters, have to help to keep the post office in business!
I wondered why the Rev had uploaded anything today, that would account for it. Don’t suppose you can capture good videos every night though.
ReplyDeleteCleaning a house is bad enough, but a church is huge! Lots of pews, but with two of you whipping along them it isn’t so bad. Can’t have the congregation going down with anything.
I know bindweed is a weed, suppose the clue is in the name, but it stills looks nice growing up the wall. The fly is a strange one, don’t think I’ve seen one with blue stripes before. Just looked it up and it could be a flesh fly.
The tomatoes look good. I bought some on the vine today, the closest I get to growing my own!
Blimey, that canvas is small. You need to do another that size but with the letter slightly smaller and some calligraphy to go with it. That’ll test your eyes 😊
The bindweed does look pretty, but it chokes everything it can cling onto!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that you looked up the fly, it did catch my eye.
Doing actually calligraphy on a canvas would actually be quite difficult because of the texture, good idea though!
