Park. I missed the path when making my way down from the bus, so went a bit further and had to cross some roads. The information centre wasn’t open but luckily the loos were! I made my way up to the bridge, would put images but will explain why I am not in a bit. Loads of slippery steps to climb up to reach the bridge, and now the only photo of the day, at least it proves I was there!
It did start to spit with rain a bit after that but I got almost half way across before heading back. Then the heavens opened so going down all those steps was not a lot of fun. By the time I was back to the loos I had already done 10,000 steps! Then I realised that I hadn’t got my phone! I hadn’t heard it drop, I was already wet and tired but thought I had better retrace my steps so went right onto the bridge to where I had taken the last photo. No phone! Back down the wet steps again and thought I had better find the proper path to the bus stop..... as I was wandering along leafy paths I began to think I was lost but then came across a sign. Climbing up towards the bridge approach road I saw a but pull in, no way of getting to it. Luckily it wasn’t mine, although I do have to stand in the rain for ten minutes before it arrived, no shelter there. The bus journey is supposed to be twenty minutes from the bridge to the city centre but there are major road works going on and it actually took over fifty minutes. I was wet and a bit fed up, and to add to the fun there was a screaming child on the bus! Once in the city I made my way straight to the phone shop. The bright part of the day was a very charming and helpful young man called Shane who upgraded my contract early and sorted out a replacement phone using the same number. Had to make an up front payment as I wasn’t due to upgrade until next May. I had had a drink before eight in the morning and a few sips of water during the day. I eventually sat down to a nice cuppa and something to eat at gone 2.30 pm. Then back to bus station and the journey home, arriving here a bit before five!
The cats have had a spat this evening to round off a perfect day!
The photo is thanks to Mike as I had sent it to him earlier.
I haven’t got all my contacts back on the phone, so if you are a friend reading this please text me, saying who you are, or email me your number! Thanks.
Well what a day! The country park is a lovely place, apart from all those steps, but it turned into a bit of a nightmare for you today! Considering the lost phone, getting soaked, getting lost and umpteen thousand steps, you did pretty well to keep your calm and get it all sorted out. The guy in the phone shop sounded really nice, and helping you get the phone all sorted must have made things a little bit easier for you. I bet you were glad to get home, until the cat fighting that is. Hopefully the rest of your evening will be a bit smoother!
ReplyDeleteFeet up with a few naughty snackettes I hope 😊
Relaxing now and enjoying Strictly. Certainly was quite a day but all turned out reasonably well in the end.
ReplyDeleteHopefully I will sleep well tonight and not get pneumonia!
