Living Well, The Range and shopping!

This morning I went to the Living Well meeting as usual. No speaker today but discussing the program that we have already enjoyed and making suggestions for any future meetings.
The other day the second hand shop had a throne style chair in the window, it had some damage that looked like it had been gnawed by a dog! I do not need, or have any room for another chair, but I really love it and fancy using some of the stash of material I have to make patchwork cushions for it. I called in today to see what Andy, who owns the shop, was asking for it. I did ask if he would swap it for a what-not that I no longer want, but he didn’t go for that! Anyway, £10 was the price, he had rubbed down and stained some of the damage, it is here now!
This afternoon Tina and I went into Hull, she had some printing to collect and then we went to The Range. We got some craft stuff, bird food for the wild birds and I got a small car stand that was reduced to below half the original price. But I think I underestimated Pandora’s size as a kitten or two might fit in the basket part but not an adult cat! Hopefully she will sit on the top and scratch at it though!
Then we went to Morrison’s and got a bit grocery shop, big shops are a pain to unpack when you get home! We all had nice ready meal curries for our tea, which was good.
We left the cats in the house with neither of them shut in anywhere. We were pleased that they were both fine when we got home!
Watching the party leaders being quizzed,  it maybe not for much longer!

  1. That does look a very nice chair. I can see the damage on the arm now I’ve zoomed in. It’s not too bad really. You can get two part repair mix for wood, a bit like the car body repair stuff. You could get some of that and shape it, then sand it down and stain it afterwards. It’ll look great with some nice colourful patchwork cushions.
The cat house/stand looks nice and not overly small. Hopefully she’ll be able to squeeze into it, and if not she can at least sharpen her claws! Pleased to hear you didn’t come home to cat carnage after your trip out with the Rev.

  2. I really love the chair, must really get this project finished!
Thanks for the link to the wood filler, food for thought.
I hope that Pandora will at least use the scratching post.
