Just a sponge cake!

I have been in for most of the day as there were packaged due to be delivered. When I looked out this morning there was a large car parked at the entrance of out drive blocking it off for anybody else. I went out to investigate and the number plate told me it belonged to the pub/bar next door. I talked to a workman as Lucien wasn’t around, said it was fine to park on the drive but could he please move it down towards the house! There was a lorry across his drive as they were getting a delivery.
I had taken a photo from the house but it was very blurred, but you get the idea.
I did a bit of tidying in the kitchen, I have way too many containers and no place to put them, obviously I would have room if I had less stuff! I had some things for sale on eBay that we’re finishing today and some had bids, so spent some time getting packages ready. As I couldn’t go out I thought I would make a sponge, didn’t have enough eggs but the greengrocer over the road sells them so nipped over and got some. The sponges are turning out well at the moment.
Once the packages had arrived I did take a walk to the post office to send off my packages. Really not a very nice day, murky and drizzly. Bought some sausages at the butchers for tea, was cooking for Darren as he is out tonight and Tina is away.
Apart from that a quiet day. One more photograph though as I never did post the picture of the new phone (nice colour) and my swish new phone case.

  1. I’d have clamped his wheel and slapped a big “sticky” sticker on his windscreen! I’m just thoughtful like that 😊
I’d have more containers in my kitchen as they are better than packets that get torn, but I have the same problem as you, no where to put them as I have too much clutter as it is.
The sponge looks very nice. So much better than the Scarborough variety! I remember at one point you said you were never going to bake one again. Glad you did, as I’m sure Darren is too. You spoil him 😊
Glad your eBay stuff all sold. You’re very quick at posting unlike a lot of ebayers.
Funky colour for your new phone, and the case is very you too. Glad you got a light coloured case as it’ll be easier to spot in the undergrowth next time you decide to play hunt the phone 😁

  2. That made me giggle, but hopefully I won’t be losing the new phone any time soon!
Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the car parked in the entrance, no day is the same living at a vicarage!
Have two more packages ready but they haven’t been paid for yet. Will take them in the morning if the payments are made tonight. Must hunt out a few more things!
