Remembrance parade and rough sea

This morning the Remembrance parade went along Newbegin and to the memorial garden after the service at the parish church. The parade arrived at the memorial garden in time for the two minute silence.
Tina is in the middle photo.

I went to the shop and the street was like a ghost town when I returned. I watched the service and wreath laying on the tv.
I forgot to mention yesterday that I called in at a Christmas Fair run by The Lions. I bought this cute and quite large reindeer for a pound.
Darren did take me along to the boot sale first thing, it was bitterly cold but we enjoyed a look round after our breakfast. We got a selection of dvds and cds for 10 or 20 pence each. I bought two large pine cones as I thought I might try and do a drawing of them. In the market I bought a really good Sony boom box for £15, new and really good as I have tried it since getting home.
I decided to have a go at doing a painting of the pine cones while it was fresh in mind. You can tell what they are I think!
This afternoon I thought I would take a walk to the sea as it was a lovely afternoon. I had a drink at the dog walker cafe and then took pictures of the sea, which was pretty rough today.

A picture of the sky on the way home and one of the wreaths at the memorial gardens.

Not planning to do a great deal tonigh after I have cooked dinner. Looking forward to the Strictly results show.
I did do a few more samples for the dot art class, may do some more tomorrow, the class is on Tuesday.

  1. That’s a very good turnouts for the parade. Nice to see lots of youngsters taking part too. The street does look very deserted in that last pic. Maybe they were all just avoiding you 😀
Some good bargains at the boot sale. The reindeer is extremely cute. Looks like a perfect cat fighting toy to me! The boom box was a good bargain too. You can blast out the house with Dire Straights while you’re cleaning now 😊
I like the painting. Looks like pine cones to me. I honestly do wish I could do that, but you’ve either got the talent for it or not. You can guess which group I’m in !
The sea never gets boring no matter how many pics you take of it. No two are ever the same. The one of the group getting a good soaking was a great capture. I’d have been too busy laughing to take a pic 😊
The dot art looks easy, but again I know there’s a lot goes into it. I think the class will enjoy doing those ones.
You’ve probably done more today than I do in a week!
Should be Mike who goes tonight, but we’ll see.

  2. It was good to have a rain free day, not had too many of those lately.
We do enjoy our trip to the boot sale, always something interesting to see, and often buy!
The spray was going really high at times and that family were having a whale of a time getting wet, difficult to press the button at just the right moment though!
I think the painting looks like pine cones, perhaps not the ones I was copying but who’s to know.
Should be Mike to go on Strictly, not long now to find out.

  3. Is that your painting of pine cones or is that actually 2 pine cones waiting to be painted??? It looks too realistic for a painting or are my eyes deceiving me a bit.???
Love the photo of the group getting caught out lol.
