This morning I had an early dentist appointment so set off in good time so that I could have a look at the sea on the way. What a difference a few days make, it was very cold and windy and no hint of sun, so very different bay pictures today.

Nothing needed doing at the dentist apart from a quick clean, another appointment in nine months. Although my knee is still painful the pills are definitely making it more manageable. So I walked into town and if possible had planned to walk back too. Did some shopping and had a coffee in town and phoned Sandy so that I could call in and see her on my way home. We had a cuppa and a chat and then I walked the rest of the way home. So today was a milestone in the aim to get walking a bit more. It is months since I have walked both ways into town. so hopefully onward and upward from now on.Have been trying to do the balancing exercises regularly too.
I was a bit tired when I got home, so sorted out some washing and watched an episode of Line of Duty. I had written a letter last night and forgot to take it with me this morning to post it. So I went down to the post box and then thought I would walk into the park. I walked round the lake and today was see the birds day. Started with These Canada geese,  trying to keep warm no doubt as it is really cold and miserable today, so only considering swimming!
Then, as I was looking at the lake this magpie came along who did not fly away when I got the camera out.
The park was very quiet, no dragon boats out today.
Went by this lovely young goose.
Then the people trying to feed ducks and squirrels but getting seagulls!
Even saw one of my favourite characters, a strutting crow.
The flower beds  have been turned over ready for summer planting, many of the birds were hunting for food treats, including this duck.
For a bit of variety this squirrel posed as I was on my way back.
So, I have definitely stepped up the walking a bit today. Will probably go with Tina to York tomorrow, she is on a training day and then has a meeting just out of the city. I should be able to find a bus in the centre and fill the day. Third part of Little Boy Blue tonight.

  1. The bay does look very different, cold and miserable, but still nice in an odd way. Sounds like you've had lots of exercise with the walking today. Nice that the knee isn't quite so much of a problem now you're taking the pills. Good teeth too, so you're all set for a decent summer, fingers crossed. The park always seems very inviting regardless of the weather. Just a lovely place with quite a lot of flora and fauna. The wildlife was almost posing for you today. Wanting food no doubt. Enjoy your day in York. Hope it stays fine for you.
