It was raining this morning so Darren and I decided not to go along to the boot sale today. When Tina came back from the early service she said there was a Busfest event up at the swimming pool, and as the weather cheered up we went up there for a look. Lots of vintage buses and coaches and lots of enthusiasts taking down numbers and photos. I, you will be surprised to know had the camera at the ready!
If you bought a program you could have rides round the town on some of the buses. Darren and I did go on one double decker, very plush seats, charging points and sockets and even chairs facing each other like on trains. This only really shows the roof windows and top of the seats, Darren wasn't keen to have his picture taken sitting on it!
This next one was looking across other buses as we parked up on return.
Had to have a picture of one of us on a bus, so hopped on this one!
We had a cup of tea and looked round the stalls, so much bus and coach memorabilia, it was quite interesting. One more shot of buses.
I came home and got the dinner made then, as it was such a lovely day I made a flask and walked down to the sea. Had that odd pain in the front of my ankle a bit so the walk down was a bit laborious, but was glad when I went for a walk on the sand and into the sea!
The water seemed so cold at first, but it is surprising how quickly it feels okay. I walked up the beach a bit and sat on the sand and read a bit of my book. It was fun watching the sea from a different level.
I had a damp bottom when I got up so sat on a wall to have a drink and read a bit more. As I walked towards the park some cyclists went by, as I didn't go and see the race took a picture of these.
I drank the rest of the contents of my flask on a bench in the park, read some more of the second Mikey Walsh book, Gypsy Boy on the Run. I have almost finished it now and it has been another interesting read. These bluebells and other flowers looked lovely as I left the park.
I have watched the final episode of series two of Line of Duty, very good, haven't got anymore now. Grantchester later though. Off to the hospital for an x-ray on my knee tomorrow.
Quite a busy day, and lots of photo opportunities. Don't think I've been on a bus since the last time we went on one in Scarborough. Like the look of the plush one. I think even I could do a long journey on that. It's probably very interesting collecting bus memorabilia :-)
ReplyDeleteThe sea and sky look really colourful and summery. I envy you having a paddle today. Think I'd have been very tempted myself. Not much round here to paddle in, apart from the Nene, and the colour of that is a bit off putting!
Hopefully the X-ray tomorrow won't show up anything too drastic. Definitely not drastic enough to warrant another op anyway. Fingers crossed.
I doubt I will know anything about the result until I go back to the doctor, won't make the appointment too quick though!
ReplyDeleteI was really pleased I got down to the sea today, it was quite warm and not overly crowded.
Bluebells look lovely and the buses look fun xx
ReplyDeleteIt was fun and made a change. xxx
