This morning I did a bit of pruning in the front garden while I was waiting for Sandy to pick me up. The poppy plant has already had five flowers open and it is full of buds, it will look tremendous when a few more are open.
I spent a couple of hours with Sandy and she looked through my Ghana scrapbooks. Darren picked me up from there and we had a bit of lunch at Sainsbury's and then did some shopping. I bought this artificial flower arrangement as they were on offer and they are delightful. It is quite light so I will keep it indoors for now.
When I got home Colonel was on the pink chair, all three cats now taking it in turns! Then Blue got on with him and tried to muscle him off, the results were quite amusing.

I tried another piece of pyrography, I think they are improving.
This evening Sandy and I were going to go to the pictures but we were not allowed to use the free tickets, so we went to the spa end and had a coffee followed by a cold drink and had a good natter. The weather has improved and it was a nice end to the day.

  1. You've always done well with poppies. I remember loads of them when you were in Welland. Talking of flowers, the artificial display is very lifelike. I think they look very real, well they do in the photo, so I'm guessing they do in real life too.
Blue looks absolutely huge compared to Colonel! I didn't realise she was that big, or Colonel was that small.
Love the latest pyrograthy. You always master whatever craft you take up. I'm looking forward to seeing larger ones when you get the better quality wood. Bet the acorn will look good when its varnished.
Shame you didn't get to the cinema, but a cuppa and chat by the sea isn't a bad alternative.

    1. I do love the oriental poppies, glad we will be here for the summer so that I can enjoy them.
The flowers do look very realistic and look good on my table against the plain wall.
Quite enjoying getting to grips with the pyrography.
