I wrote the blog early yesterday because I was going out for the evening. I walked up to the studio and cut through to have a look at the bay on the way. It was a lovely afternoon although the wind was pretty fresh on the cliff top.
Donna took me across to her very nice little bungalow and cooked us a really tasty chorizo and chick pea stew. Then we came into the Stephen Joseph Theatre and saw a film called 'Fences'. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
When I got home I had a chat with Darren and Tina and got a present from Tina that she had bought in Ikea. It is a lightweight rucksack.
That folds up into one of the side pockets!
Great to pack in a case if you are going away for a weekend.
This morning Tina and I went to a talk in the library given by a monk from the Egyptian Coptic church. Thoroughly interesting and all completely new to me. A good crowd of people there. Once a month they have talks in a very attractive conference room, so will have to check out what else is coming.
Tina dropped me off at the studio so that I could make a start on the book vase. I had made up my mind to make it into a Jemima Puddle-Duck book. Firstly what it is like.
Then I marked it out with pencil, one side as the book cover and the other to have a full illustration.
Forgot to take the picture of the back before I painted the bonnet! I carried on with the writing first and then started painting the image on the front.
I will try to get it finished next week. I walked back home, I am not totally convinced that the new tablets are making a difference, but will decide after a few more days on them. The doctor did say there were other options if they don't help.
The three of us had something to eat at Sainsbury's and got some shopping in including for tomorrow's dinner. The two younger cats were fighting and wanting food and then they had a drink, used to be just Charlies Domain but now it is something else to fight over!
Casualty in a bit, tissues at the ready!!
Really nice you managed to get out for the evening yesterday. Sounds like you had a really nice time. You should do it more often.
ReplyDeleteGreat little rucksack, as you say ideal to carry in a bigger pack and use if you're away for the weekend. You'll have to book more weekends away now :-)
The vase is very unusual in shape, but I think it'll look great when it's finished and fired. You must have a lot of Beatrix Potter stuff now. Hopefully those obviously agile cats won't knock it over when climbing over things!
Great skies at the beginning. Really nice and blue, looks like a summers day. Doubt it felt like it though!
It was a lovely evening, I do hope we will do it again.
ReplyDeleteWhen Tina saw the rucksack she thought what a great idea.
I am looking forward to finishing the vase.
The bay was beautiful yesterday, but it was cold up there!
