One quite muted, but lovely sunset picture.
Tina and I did a bit of cleaning and tidying this morning as the bishop was coming to see her this evening. Then we went into town, we had dinner at Mother Hubbard's and looked in a couple of shops then went to M & S to get some shopping in for the weekend. I bought some artificial flowers in a home ware shop to put in the book vase. After the food shopping I was struggling a bit so I sat on a bench while Tina went into Wilko's for cat litter and to get me some dry oasis. As I sat on the bench I spotted this planter with a tree in it, I am quite sure it wasn't there before!
We expected rain today but it didn't arrive, so I checked on the bonsai trees which are looking lovely this year.
When I was settled back up here I arranged the artificial flowers in the book vase, I think the choice of flowers was a good one.
While we were out Tina bought me some flowers, so pretty and in another vase I painted.
I met the bishop briefly, a very charming lady. After she had gone I went with Tina to the church for a wedding rehearsal, there has to be a second person in the church on these occasions. I took a photo of one of the stained glass windows to finish the post today.
That's a lovely sunset and the muted colours make it look really tranquil.
ReplyDeleteThe tree in the pot in town must be new. I really can't believe you wouldn't have noticed it before it it'd been there a while. It is rather large! At the other end of the scale your bonsais do look very healthy and colourful too.
The long thin stemmed flowers are a perfect choice for the new vase as they follow the sides up nicely. Normal ones with larger heads wouldn't have looked right I don't think. You really do have a good eye for things like that as I wouldn't have had a clue.
That is a nice shy picture, I like the muted effect.
ReplyDeletei am pleased with the flowers for the vase, I agree, bigger ones wouldn't have looked right.
Gorgeous flowers for the vase , I can't say I have ever noticed a tree there But you are very observant so it must be new. Beautiful coots in that sunset and clouds are so ethereal I love clouds ☁️
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a lovely weekend and your Bonsais are really doing well
You have a good weekend, including some rest if humanly possible!!! xxx
