Today I have not had a good day as far as the pain goes, the knee has been worse than the ankle today, but I have supports for when I need them. Tina and I walked over to the park to have a bacon sandwich for breakfast. We went in out tee shirts because it was cloudy but dry and rain didn't appear to be that close. By the time we had out sandwich the heaven had opened, and although it wasn't that far to the car, and  I was pretty slow,we got absolutely drenched! In retrospect we should have come indoors, changed and put on suitable clothing, but we had planned to go to the church and then shopping so we headed off for the church where Tina had to collect some things. We got a bit wetter and then sat in the church and had tea and cake. We decided then, better late than never, that we should come home before going to town, dry off a bit and get different clothes on. Then we went into town, Tina found some trousers that will be fine for work and some cropped ones, I got a pair of trousers in the sales as well. But then we went to Trespass and I got a water resistant coat that was on sale. Tina wouldn't let me get the pink one, but this blue on is fine!!
In the pound shop they had some cushions, not with openings, but they will make great fillers for me to use to make a couple of cushion covers as presents for Christmas, already have one idea in mind.
We went to Tesco after we had finished in town to get some shopping in for the weekend. I still have flowers but Tina decided that I really needed some sunflowers, really  is a bit like a florists at the moment, although one lot are almost ready to be thrown out.
I had a sore throat when I got up and now both Tina and I are cold so I suppose we just got chilled this morning. I have Strepsils and some Lemsips so will get dosed up. Still watching the Paralympics, hopefully we are going to make and surpass the target set for medal haul.

  1. Well I suppose its judgment on you both for going to the park for one of those nice toasted bacon sarnies. Did it taste good, and was it worth it? :-)
Why not a pink one? It would suit you. Looks a nice quality lightweight coat though. Hopefully you won't need to use it too much!
I'm intrigued about the cushion you're going to make now. I look forward to seeing the results. You could make a sunflower design, they really are nice flowers.
Hope you've warmed up a bit now.

  2. The sandwich was good but think it was a different cook as not so crispy and toasted. I will post the cushion cover when it is underway, not just yet though. Have a nice snuggly jumper on now so much warmer.
