I don't often spot planes from my window, don't seem to be on a regular flight path, but did catch one last night.
Charlie had a bad tummy last night and this morning when I got up was definitely not very well. Tina and I took him to the vet, he had a couple of injections, she thinks it is a bug rather than something he has eaten. He has been subdued today, but has begun to eat again and seems a little better. I thought I would take a walk and see if I could make my way up the glen. The ankle was pretty painful but the knee not to bad today. The glen is always so welcoming.
And peaceful.
I am taken with the sun and trees at the moment, makes a change to be looking up.
Slowly making my way up further than I have made it for a while.

Made it up to the pond with the statue in the middle.
I did take some bird seed and monkey nuts. Had a robin visit briefly.
While I was sitting on the bench sketching I had the company of a solitary squirrel who was coming again and again to get a peanut, here he was sitting on the bench near me.

Just liked the colour of this tree on the way back down.
I had a bacon sandwich and cup of tea in the cafe in the park, the young heron was still bu the bandstand.
Finally as far as pictures go the sketch I did while out, using a fountain pen.
It is really hot today, but a lot hotter in Rio! Have been watching some Paralympics, another three gold and a bronze already today. Such compulsive viewing once you get into it, each medal is such an achievement. I did stay up long enough last night to see Ellie defend her title. On another subject altogether I forgot to mention how fantastic the show was on Sunday evening.  Absolutely great singers, lots of film footage to coincide with the release of Simon and Garfunkel's cds. The lad who was the Art Garfunkel style singer brought the house done when he sand Bridge \over Troubled Water. Lots of audience participation and they were on stage for over two hours.

  1. The glen is such a lovely place, and you have some really nice pictures there. The colourful tree bathed in light is lovely, and the squirrel is very cute, but the sky picture with the aeroplane contrail is brilliant, I absolutely love that one! It could almost be a comet if you didn't know better. If I'd have took that, and I wish I had, it would definitely be printed very large, framed and on the wall. In fact I may try to persuade you to send me the original :-)
Glad you had a good time at the show last night. I think live shows in small..ish venues are always so much better.

    1. Yes I am but felt really poorly this week, stayed home 24/7. Just hoping I pick up by Sunday. This heat is not good either, got the fan going most of the time.
