This morning Tina took me up to the swimming pool before she went to her meeting. I had sorted out a pair of light trainers and although it hurt a bit getting them on, once there they were okay. I had decided that I would go and try the exercise bike in the gym before I went for a swim. It is an unmanned gym and there were just two other ladies in there. I tried the upright exercise bike first for a bit over 5 minutes, but the seat wasn't comfortable so I did about 7 minutes on the legs stretched out in front of you version, which was better. Also did 5 minutes on the rowing machine. All of that apparently equalled 75 calories!! I went for a swim afterwards, slow but sure and managed a few lengths.I decided to walk up from the pool to the higher entrance that leads to the beginning of the glen. It is a very attractive road and doesn't get a lot of traffic.
Today I was fascinated by the shadows and reflections, starting with the shadows on the path on the way down.
What a lovely setting for the hut to get the equipment for the mini golf. I bet whoever works there enjoys the views.
More shadows as I neared the park.
Then sun through the turning leaves, a pretty walk today.
Then more shadows!
I had a cup of tea at the cafe in the park and spotted this young heron at the side of the band stand in the lake.
The reflection of the bandstand was striking today.
I took a closer photo of the 'seeping tree', very odd.
I will finish the photos with the beautiful begonia bed as I was leaving the park.
I haven't done a lot for the rest of the day. Stayed in as the vacuum cleaner man was coming and Tina and Darren were both out. I got a load of washing dried on the line as it is a very blowy day today, and wrote a letter and went to post it. Apart from that lots of Paralympics again and another two gold medal today and hopefully more to come this evening.
75 calories is better than nothing :-) Has it spurred you on to go on a regular basis, or was it just the fact you got a lift up there?
ReplyDeleteShadows and reflections in pictures make such good subjects. It's a good idea to go out with a set theme in your head. It makes you look harder for suitable subjects. You should pick a different theme every couple of days and aim to get one really good example of it. I used to do that.....note the 'used to' :-)
I intend to get to the gym and swim two or three times a week although at the moment the walk both ways is a bit daunting. The theme idea is a good one, I will have a think about that.
