I was just heading down to feed the cats this morning when the doorbell went. It was a box of the wild flowers that fit through a letter box, but actually made a great bouquet when opened. It was from Anya and Isobel, well, the message was from Isobel to thank me for looking after her when she was poorly. A lovely start to the day.

I will add an out of chronological order photo now, taken this afternoon by Tina. Blue, the kitten, who I have done my best to discourage from my rooms, decided it was my lap she wanted when I had a cup of tea with Tina downstairs. She settled very happily and was in no hurry to move!
This morning Angie arrived with her parents, and Peter, her dad, drove us to Whitby Park and Ride. It is a pleasant ride into the town from there and a reasonable cost. We wandered up to the old town, there was a pottery shop along this side street.
Angie loved the quaint streets and unusual shops.
We had to have a picture of Peter and Rita under this sign, I am sure after fifty years there have been a few arguments!
A couple of views of the town.

It did cloud over and looked like rain while we were having our fish and chips, but as you can see it passed over and was lovely again. We got the bus back to the car, and then Peter drove us up to see Whitby Abbey a bit closer. We didn't stop, just took a picture.
Would love to visit another time and take my sketch book. Then he drove us down to Robin Hood's Bay, again just to take a picture and they could say they had been there!
We stopped at The Flask cafe on the way back, lovely people running it and very good cake! Was home quite early and Angie and family went straight back to the hotel. They are going home tomorrow. The weather was kind and it was a very enjoyable day.

  1. Lovely bunch of flowers, what a treat. It's like a florists in your place at the minute.
They'll be calling you the cat lady soon and not the spider lady!
Looks like a lovely day out with lovely weather too. The skies are really nice in those pictures of Whitby. I envy you the fish and chips at the seaside, and the cake at The Flask.

  2. We weren't there that long but it was an enjoyable trip. The flowers are lovely, I have had one of those packs of flowers in a box before and they lasted for ages.
