Keep up the walking if possible, and Happy New Year!

I have done some sorting today, finding homes for extra stuff and and getting recycling put in the bin as it will be collected this week. Went to the local shop and out into the garden to top up the bird feeders when the rain had stopped. After lunch I walked to see Jean, went via the sea front. Quite chilly but a good few people around, even on the beach.
A nice wintry shot on the way to Jeans.
I stopped for a little while, Jean loved the gonk! Terry offered to give me a lift home but I said I needed to keep the exercise going as I want to be match fit if the operation takes place in March as planned. I called in to see Bel for a little while on the way home to see how she is nd thank her for the jigsaw she bought me for Christmas.
I unpacked the two wooden kits I bought in Peterborough, they were on offer and I got an extra £5 off because I signed up for the stores loyalty card!
Looks like they could both be a bit fiddly, but I have enjoyed the other two wooden kits.
Not sure if I will stay up to midnight, the night is young and I am feeling quite tired!
In any case, wishing you a healthy and happy new year.

Pottery pics

Anya and Isobel stayed over oat night and this morning, after a quick game of Bananagrams we went up to Freeport. Anya and Isobel painted items and I worked on the candlestick I started before Christmas. I also got to see the coffee pot and puffin I painted as samples.
Isobel enjoyed a milk shake before painting.
I worked on the outlines of the ivy on the candlestick, Any took a photo of me deep concentration!
I will collect Anya and Isobel’s pieces when they are fired.
We did some shopping and then Darren and Tina joined us at the cafe for lunch. Anya and Isobel set off for home soon after we got back to the house. I took the photos of the pieces I collected when I got home. The gonk for Jean and the Mary and baby Jesus models.
This afternoon I have done most of the unpacking, got some washing done, and went to the local shop. My knee has been a bit iffy today so a nice evening in front of the tv now.

Panto and home

This morning I got my stuff together and then walked to the shop to buy a paper and post some letters. Then we got ready to go to the panto at The Key Theatre. It was Aladdin and really very good. A pic of the stage before the start and then allowed to take pics at the end.
Back to the house for a bit of lunch and then get ready to load the car up. A very good journey, the lights in Bourne and on the bridge at night.
We had fish and chips with Darren and Tina and are now relaxing in front of the tv. Anya and Isobel will stay tonight and head home tomorrow.
It has been a lovely week.

Visit, dog park, and nice meal

This morning Anya took me across to see Nora for an hour while she did some errands. Lovely to see Nora as she was so helpful when I  was helping Rose to move. Then Anya picked me up and we went to the dog field social where Aurora had a great time with her friends. It was interesting seeing the dogs interacting. I sat in a shed for a while so watched from a distance.
This afternoon we watched a drama on tv and had a game of Scrabble. The new set that Anya bought had changed the colours of the bonus squares which really confused us! Had a meal with Mike at Ibrahimis this evening which was good as we have always found it to be.
Another game of Scrabble before thinking about getting my stuff together, as going home tomorrow afternoon.

Taking it easy

This morning I went with Anya to Bretton Centre, we went in a couple of shops. It was interesting to see how different it is there now. Then we drove over to Ramsey with Aurora to visit Janet and deliver the last cake. A picture of me showing Janet something on the phone, and one of Aurora, who wa very well behaved and then settled down on my foot!
Some crosswords and a bit of jigsaw this afternoon, I also bought a copy of The I newspaper and read some interesting articles.the jigsaw is beginning to take place, the long strip is the tail, we will move it into at some point!
I unwrapped the lovely outside wall decoration that Anya and Louis bought me so that I could take a photo. Best get sorting that walled garden!
Anya took Aurora to the dog park group session, we had dinner when she got back.
We watched the first part of a very good Agatha Christie story this morning evening before getting ready for bed.

Boxing Day

This morning Anya and I had a go at an online game Isobel had seen called The Password Game. It is really very challenging and we both managed not to finish the first attempt. We were having to look up chess notation and periodic table symbols, be good at maths and recognise random pictures from countries. A good game if you have patience and nothing else to do all day! Then I went for another dog walk with Anya and Louis. We took a woodland path near the boating lake and walked back next to the lake.
We walked a bit further to underneath the the Nene parkway. They now have live music events there and there is lots of great graffiti.
This afternoon the family dropped me off at Rachel’s while they visited Louis’s family. Had a lovely few hours catching up with them. We watched a bit of tv and played a game when we got back this evening.

Christmas Day

A very enjoyable day, present opening once we were all downstairs. Aurora first! A couple of pics and then a better one taken by Louis,
Only took a couple more.
I got some very good gifts but will just add the two new jigsaws for now. The toucans are a wooden one similar to Isobel’s.
Had a game of crib with Anya, then went for a short walk while Anya got on with dinner. Just to a play park and sports ground close by. An impressive sport ground and funky decoration on the building.
Isobel set the table and Anya cooked an impressive and very large dinner.
We watched the Kings Christmas message a bit late and the Strictly special. Anya and I play another hand of crib and then a couple of games of Bananas. I will add a pic of my second attempt. You have tiles but both make your own crossword, so not really competitive but we both really enjoy it.
A bit more tv and now about to retire.
