A nice sky when I got off the bus.
An artist had painted a lovely scene in the studio.
After a drink, warm up and natter I got on with the plate I started last week. That is now ready for firing.
I chatted with Caroline about started a sample for the studio. We settled on a coffee jug and Caroline suggested basing it on a Hornsea pottery design. I was a bit taken aback, quite a challenge! Before lunch I used a felt tip to mark it out.
I walked up to Pound Stretcher and bought a few bits and then I went to the cafe for lunch. Then back into the studio where I did finish the jug ready for firing. Not too bad as I drew the pattern on freehand, the blue will burn away so it will just be orange and white.
They had sorted a set of underglazes for me to bring home. Caroline gave me. Mary and baby Jesus set to paint for Tina and I bought the gonk to paint for Jean. Will never be short of something to do!
Going to finish writing the Christmas cards tonight and then watch the final episode of Shetland.
You have been a busy bee today. At least you’re getting out and about a bit more at the moment. Hope it stays that way 🤞
ReplyDeleteI love those yarn bombs. I saw a couple on my travels today. They take a lot of effort, and look really great…..as long as the oiks stay away from them!
Love your pic of the sky. Almost sepia.
Your plate looks really nice and I think the coffee pot will too. I’m looking forward to seeing them fired. I might commission a t-pot, cup and saucer in that Hornsea design 🙂
You are a glutton for punishment. You’ve got loads to paint at home now and no doubt it’ll increase. You’ll definitely be getting commissions.
Enjoy Shetland.
It was a full day, but good that a lot of it was being artistic.
ReplyDeleteCertainly got some painting to keep me busy.
Have just about finished the cards in time to watch Shetland.
