Goodbye ice, hello rain!

Not as cold today and the last of the snow disappeared helped along by the rain. I did go out to feed the birds but may have to stop as it was really treacherous under foot, very muddy and slippery. I don’t need to end up on the ground as I wouldn’t be able to up, let along any damage I might do myself! I did a load of washing and did look at the jigsaw, even put a few pieces in.
Sally, from Atwick church came with a hamper that Tina had won yesterday. I save jars for her and had a bag full ready for her. The hamper is interesting, a few of the ladies all buy one thing and then they put them together. The contents made me smile as it had things my parents would have loved but not seen so often these days, like spam, tinned ham and peaches and evaporated milk. It is a fairly elderly congregation there.
For some reason the photos will not upload tonight. There were only three so maybe tomorrow if the fault is sorted.
Tina went to the new banking hub and said the staff were lovely. I counted some coins and decided to try a walk along to go there myself. The leg wasn’t good but I managed okay, so maybe onward and upward.
We watched the Festive Pottery Throw Down this afternoon which was fun, then I did a bit of half hearted sorting!
The
Christmas cards I ordered arrived today so may make a start, or maybe just sit and do nothing!
Fingers crossed I can add photos tomorrow.

  1. Muddy and slippery doesn’t sound good, specially with bad knees etc. I’m sure the birds won’t mind looking elsewhere for food for the time being. Plus if you fall over and can’t get up the squirrels and seagulls might eat you! 😳😂
I like the sound of the hamper. Definitely old fashioned store cupboard food. Apart from the spam I have the others in my cupboard now 😊 I must be old.
The banking hub will be really handy for you. Hopefully others will use it regularly so that it stays open. Too many local banks are closing these days ☹️
I didn’t know there was a festive pottery throw down. I might have to look that up. What channel is it, I can’t remember?
Sitting and doing nothing sounds the best option to me. It’s what I’m doing 😀
    Take it easy.

  2. I was on channel 4. A celebrity one but it was fun, just the one episode.
Yes, the banking hub will be great, will encourage everyone I can to make use of it. It is run by the post office but a representative from different banks will be in attendance on different days.
