Bit more active

This morning my stash of icing arrived for the next stage of the cake decorating. So a job to get on with next week.
I have spent a good bit of time on the jigsaw, have done some of the pieces that are not plain colours, that my have been a good idea, but we will see.
Tina went out to try and sort the bird baths. The ones down the garden were frozen solid so she brought them in to thaw. The ones nearer the house were also frozen but she was able to break ice on top.
I braved the elements and to test the leg and went out to feed the birds. Bitterly cold and lot of birds gathering as I haven’t been out for a few days. The snow in the weed filled lawn had frozen, and along with the leaves made a pretty sight.
Sarah and David called round to collect the cd I had ordered for them and popped in for. Bit of a chat. When they had gone Darren said he was going to take a trip to Lidl and took me along. We took the rollator in case I struggled, but did manage okay. I hadn’t been out since Tuesday so take that as a positive. I took some pics, it was grey, then foggy and managed to catch the fleeting moon.
On the way back we were behind lorry which I thought looked like a steam engine travelling backwards! (I know, hve some weird ideas). Didn’t get the phone ready to snap at first and then when I did it was out of focus, and the second attempt we were too close and it was turning a different way so in focus but not complete. Posting them anyway because it made me smile.
A picture of the ongoing puzzle to finish.

  1. Out in the garden and out on the road with Darren. Definitely not such a shut in day today. I bet the birds were pleased to see you, specially if the ground was frozen. Not so easy for them to get a feed in this weather. Bet they’ll be back tomorrow in the hopes you’re there again. It’s getting really wintery everywhere now. I do like the frosted lawn pic though.
Bet you never thought you’d be so happy to go to Lidl 😂 Anywhere is better than nowhere! Do look a very gloomy mist day. So you’re not missing much from being indoors.
I have to say I think the lorry looks like a steam engine going backwards too 😊 Looks better at a distance than close up.
Blimey, the puzzle is coming along nicely. You’ll be done before long 🧩😊

  2. Yes, a more interesting day and lovely to get out with Darren for a bit. I think he fancies trying the boot sale depending on the weather, it may be busier this week as the Christmas market may be on. I will do if he wants to, even if I just breakfast and return to the car.
There are about three or four hundred pieces that are varying shared of green, so I think the puzzle will be a while get finished yet.
