Being a crafty lady

Yesterday evening I painted the Mary and baby pottery items ready to take to the studio today along with the gonk.
I went to the shop early before catching the bus to Freeport. Rob, Caroline’s brother had never painted before but had promised he would join me today. He did sit and paint and Caroline suggested that I paint an Easter bowl. It was tricky as there were large spots in the bowl! I think it will be quite cute though.
I went and did some shopping when I had finished and then had a bit of lunch in the cafe.
This afternoon I decided to get the cakes decorated, just pics of a square a round and a couple of the loaf shaped ones. Quite different this year and bright!
I have got a puffin to paint at home now,
And got four pieces into the jigsaw today 🤣.

  1. Mary hasn’t got a face, has Jesus? 😂 They look good though, as does the rest of the pottery from today. I quite like the rabbit bowl.
Lunch out is a great idea. So much easier, and nicer than doing it yourself. Let someone else do it 🙂
I think the cakes look great. The extra lining on the decorations really does make a difference. They stand out. Bet you’re glad they’re nearly over and done with now……until next year that is!
Four pieces, you really pushed the boat out today 😂

  2. They were both made featureless and I decided that was preferable to trying to paint features on such small faces. Quite a lot of modern statues seem to be featureless. Took a surprisingly long time to paint the bowl but I enjoyed doing it.
Yes, very pleased to have the cakes finished, can get the local ones delivered now.
Even with the new light finding the pieces is proving very difficult.
