Bit warmer!

There had been a dusting of snow last night but it was warmer and not so icy. We didn’t go out at all this morning as there wasn’t much going on at the boot sale last week. So a few chores and a few pieces into the jigsaw puzzle . I forgot to put a picture of the white Christmas cactus Darren got me yesterday. I need more plants, obviously, but I have two red ones so this will be different!
This afternoon I went to Atwick with Tina as they had their Christmas fund raiser. The weather kept people away, which was a pity, they have gone to a lot of trouble. I bought some things, a lovely bowl turned by a chap and it was layers of plywood. Also some chutney made by Sally who I save jam jars for.
Then I got a ‘soup cosy’, a great idea for when you heat soup on the microwave and the bowl is too hot to handle! Then some little hearts with a sweet message that I will send to some friends. Also a good idea for things I could make!
I did get into the garden to feed the birds which was good. The leg isn’t too keen on bending but am making myself do the exercises now , maybe it will help, maybe not!
The Strictly show was good although there wasn’t an elimination. Interviews with all the semi finalists.
May do some wrapping now, then again may just lounge around!

  1. Make the most of it being warmer up there today. I think after seeing the weather forecast this evening that you could be in for really cold weather and snow. So sort out your hat, gloves and a thick coat! Shame you didn’t get out to the boot sale this morning, but it certainly looks like you made up for it with all the stuff you brought back from the Christmas fundraiser!
The bowl is lovely. Always nice to have a hand turned bowl. I also love the idea of the soup cosy. I’ve never seen one of those before, but it’s such a good idea. I normally burn my hands after microwaving soup. But knowing how clumsy I am, I’d probably spill the soup in the cosy and spoil it.
It sounds like you’ve done a bit more today, but not a lot compared to your usual routines. Slowing down this weather isn’t such a bad thing, but it would be nice to think you will be up and around when the better weather returns next year.
Lounging around sounds a great idea 😊

  2. Decided to do a bit of wrapping and listen to Mark Knopfler.
Not a bad day, and hopefully build up the steps again a bit, need to keep that weight under control.
