Boot sale, and a little gardening.

Off to the boot sale as usual, not a bad morning, not too hot but not cold either and quite busy there.I got a really lovely hand made box for Tina, it is blue and she used to make lovely boxes herself for people so would appreciate the work that went into it. One photo of it closed and one open as it is not a straightforward box!
I got a resin gecko that a lady made, so won’t be another one like it. I took a close up as well as I think it is freesia petals inside. Darren spotted the dvd and it was only 20p and will probably be interesting.
My knee was really painful by the time we were leaving so I sat and read for a while when we got home. After lunch I did go and hoe and edge one bed in the back garden. This bug was smaller than a ladybird so I deleted more photos than I saved!
I noticed young blue tits in the tree and stood for quite a while, knee wasn’t happy with that, and again took deleted more photos that I saved. It wa sin te shade and I only had the phone. I will add them all to test your eyes, there are a couple of birds in two of them!
Since dinner I have been reading but was dozing off, will probably try to read a bit more now as I am enjoying the book.

  1. I think the box is great. Such a lot of work has gone into that. I’m sure the Rev will love it. Does seem a shame that something that had taken so much work ends up at a boot sale ☹️ But it does mean you got the chance to buy it. The gecko is lovely too. Very unique and will look great with the rest of your collection. A good day for bargains today. I’m sure you’ll get 20p’s worth out of the dvd 😊
Considering you were t out in the garden for too long, you managed to get some great pics. The little red bug has come out very clear considering how small it is. It’s a scarlet lily beetle by the way. I can even see all the birds in the other photos 😄
Reading will definitely send you to sleep. Enjoy your evening.

  2. A very appropriate name for the beetle then!
We usually manage to recycle something by going to the boot sale, quite often several things! We enjoy the browsing anyway.
A little more reading now I think and probably a reasonably early night.
