Dunnock Day

Not a great night again but a pleasant day. I started collecting poppy seeds got a friend so that I could pull up the plants while I was waiting for Angela. We went to the garden centre where we had breakfast and a good catch up chat. She bought some paint for her fence and I got a set of storage containers. When I came back I started sorting through all my various storage jars and containers to get them ready to take over the road to Leafy Green Dragon as I will order the Christmas cake ingredients from them. I got the ingredients from them last year and the cakes turned out well. Angela would like one so will add it to the list!
I went to see Sarah and David this afternoon, gathered some more poppy seeds when I got back and then pulled up the plants. The I set to and went through the kitchen cupboards, getting rid of out of date stuff and reorganising the baking tins etc. the cupboard is low and difficult to get to so things tend to get shoved in anyhow!
Now to the dunnock! I am so thrilled that it has visited the feeder, of all the birds this excites me the most. If is a pain looking little bird and a very shy ground feeder and when I spot it that makes my day. So a few photos now, so hope you don’t find them boring. I actually think the third one is probably a baby robin!
A couple of interesting programs on tv tonight,

  1. You’ve certainly not been sitting around doing nothing! Sorting is very addictive once you get into it, which is a good thing sometimes. We should all go through out kitchen cupboards as I’m sure we all could get rid of at least half of their contents. I know I certainly could. I have cooking pots and tins I haven’t used in years, and probably won’t ever again!
The dunnock is a lovely little bird, and such clean crisp pics from the bird buddy. That’s a great bit of kit! Some really great pic tonight.
Enjoy some feet up time with your programs this evening.

  2. It has been a pretty good day, did some long overdue sorting.
The dunnock pics today made my day. No starlings around at the moment so the smaller birds are getting a look in!
Not sure about this drama yet.
