Very strong wind but just a little rain

This morning, after the shopping had arrived and been packed away I walked up to Tesco to get rolls for lunch and a few other bits. Haven’t walked there for a few weeks and managed okay so fingers crossed the meds are having some effect.
When I was feeding the birds first think the sunflowers hadn’t broken but they were in danger of lying down on the job! So after a rest and a read after the Tesco trip I set off to see if I could get some long canes. Tried Boyes and the Factory Shop to no avail, so along to the end of Newbegin to Pets, Petals  and Paws. No six foot canes, so a pack of them eight foot ones but dubious about getting them back with the rollator, and the town had been incredibly busy on the way there. The ladies tried tying them onto the rollator, and the I said ‘will I be able to get out of the shop?’ A bit of manoeuvring with the help of an assistant and I was on my way. My hand really hurt by the time I was home as I was holding on to them! Took a pic before I got them off.
A quick drink and rest then I went out to prop up some sunflowers! It was thundering and I have never really liked storms but stayed out until all ten were used. The sunflowers are tall but only just forming blooms.
Last year we had a couple of daisy flowers, both just had one bloom but they lasted for ages. More flowers this year and the are just opening.
The water feature was leaking underneath and Tina used some silicone but we thought it hadn’t sealed. She went out to return a ball over the wall this afternoon and noticed that the feature was full of water! So she put it back together and it is working and not liking which is great.
Bit of tennis this afternoon and finished the book I bought on Wednesday, which was very good.
A quiet evening with feet up is the pin now, Pandora was on my lap but has moved to her favourite chair now,

  1. It certainly sounds like the new meds are starting to kick in. It’s great that you can get out a bit more than of late. You’re definitely not one for sitting around the house too long 😊 Although transporting 8 foot canes on the rollator isn’t probably the best way to celebrate your new lease of life 😄 Needs must though, and the sunflowers did need them. Judging by the pic they’ve certainly grown a lot lately. Doesn’t seem 5 minutes since they were little diddy things you were planting out!
I’m pleased the water feature is usable again. It’s too pretty not to have working. You just need some sun now to keep it pumping.
You’re getting through the books again. Although you won’t have so much time to read if you’re getting out and about more. Enjoy some rest this evening in readiness for a long walk around a field and carrying bargains back to the car tomorrow😊

  2. It is good to get out a bit while I can, I got some funny looks going down the street with those canes. The sunflowers are getting really tall, hopefully will look great in a couple of weeks.
We really love the wter feature, so good to have it working again.
