I took the lopper out this morning and cut a bush back that was overhanging the lawn and some nettles that were crowding one of the veg plants. Then I tried to stake the row of foxgloves that were lying all over the lawn! The bees were very happy when they were upright again, several were straight into the flowers that are left!
This butterfly had a damaged wing but it didn’t seem to be a problem.
The spiky yellow flowers have started to open in the front garden, the ones in the back are thinking about it!
An odd thistle in one of the beds, which can stay as it is pretty!
The leg has been pretty sore today, but managed the short walk to see Sher at the plant shop. She closed up for lunch and we went upstairs and had an hour or so catching up over an indoor picnic!
I have watered the back garden this evening and will hopefully feel lively enough in the morning to water the front. Sadly the rain is missing us again! The leaves on the honesty plant are lovely.
Some tennis and a new drama to watch this evening.
Multitasking! No wonder you get so much done 😊
ReplyDeleteI’m pleased to hear you’re looking after the bees by sorting out the foxgloves. I like both bees and foxgloves, so win win 😄
It’s amazing the butterfly can still fly with a piece that big missing from its wing. Can you imagine a Boeing 747 making it to America with a lump that size missing from its wing?!
Some lovely colour in the front garden, specially the purple on the thistle. It’s raining on and off here, so I hope the rain makes it up there to you. A good soaking would be easier than having to water the front in the morning.
I love the idea of you visiting Sher and having an indoor picnic. That’s lovely 👍😊
Still no rain here, but ever hopeful!
ReplyDeleteBit more colouring this evening so very restful, just ten mins on in the background.
Lunch was great, and we get on so well, does mean I have eaten too much today!
