Back to boring!

This morning I worked in the front garden, the gravel near the path that I lifted was full of grass and there were weeds and unwanted plants. It is right by the entrance so really needed attention. I took well over an hour and involved quite a lot of hard hoeing and some digging!

I had a coffee break and then went out and weeded the walled garden which was getting a bit untidy again, didn’t take any more gardening pics but that is not to say I didn’t do any! Then I dug a few big weeds out before going in and getting lunch.
This afternoon I dug out more large weeds and unwanted plants and tried to support the honeysuckle which was all over the path. Removed another couple of carts of weed and plants, we could do with several brown bins!
The most exciting part of the afternoon was that the pair of ducks were about, only had the phone out there but did manage a couple of shots. It was especially good to see as the other day lady duck had visited on her own and we were worried something had happened to her mate!

Have seen a blackbird bathing in the new bath today, in fact the baths were being well used so they have got used to the new position for them.
I watched ‘The Personal History of David Copperfield’ this afternoon with Dev Patel, I enjoyed it although I didn’t actually know the story having never read any Dickens. Then I had a bath. Will probably be back in the garden again tomorrow.

  1. It doesn’t seem five minutes since you did the path at the front. I can well believe it you an hour or more. It only looks a small patch but those pesky weeds do dig in deep! Sounds like you’ve done quite a bit out there again today.
It’s lovely that the ducks visit like that, and nice that both of them turned up this time. Have you seen anything of the poor female blackbird from the other day? Hope she was ok.
I’ve not watched the Dev Patel version of David Copperfield, but I’ve heard good things about it. Maybe I’ll get around to it one day. I’ll add it to my ever growing list 😀
Enjoy the rest of your relaxing evening, ready for another gardening onslaught tomorrow!

  2. Pushing on with the garden, never ending but feel like I may have it a bit more under control this year,
Love the ducks visiting. Haven’t seen a blackbird that is obviously that one just hoping she is okay.
