Darren came out with a cuppa after about an hour and he had his shoes on ready to help me with the storage cupboard. He agreed that the instructions were not the best, but within he it was soon assembled.
I sat and had my cuppa and took a couple of pictures of Pandora.
After lunch I finished the top by the path and then worked all along the edge of that long bed, remove it weeds and surplus seedlings on the way.
After a break I thought I would go and prepare an area for the storage cupboard. I had already used the strimmer on and are near the summer house and the started hoeing it level, or reasonably level!
I put some weed control fabric down and got some tiles. A slight downer on the day then when I saw
Blue had injured a lady blackbird. She m get to fly when I went to get her so I hope that she will heal and not drop dead somewhere. So I went and got n with a little less enthusiasm and didn’t do the best job, but it now has some tubs of bird food in there.
I found a pattern that I liked on line so I have ordered it, they will end up being pretty expensive dungarees!
After tea I went to the church to give Tina a hand and then we drove up to Mappleton. There is a weird selfie stick there, Tina said she had been told it was something to do with coastal erosion. We worked out a timer and put the camera on the stand. I had to be on tiptoe and it was very close to a fence!!
I finished the Do.y Parton book last night, really enjoyed it. I do have the accompanying cd which I was going to listen to today, but time has run away with me! Maybe tomorrow.
I admire anyone who has enthusiasm about gardening, I could never bring myself to get enthusiastic about it. Specially when it’s enormous like yours. But I do like to see a nice looking garden, and yours always looks nice when you’ve worked on it. I remember you laying that little grass path. It now looks as if it’s been there forever.
ReplyDeleteGood old Darren, cup of tea and the cabinet sorted, you are honoured π It looks as though it’ll be up to the job of storing the bird food. You were keen getting it all in place and set up tonight.
The pics of Pandora are lovely. She is a cute cat, unlike that other bird hunter you have! Hopefully the blackbird will be ok if she managed to fly off. Not surprised it put a downer on your day ☹️
The dungarees are getting closer. They’ll look good even if they are a bit expensive. Sure fact Darren won’t go anywhere with you when you wear them π Mother with Peter Rabbit dungarees. I can see him rolling his eyes now π
Awww, that’s a great pic of you and the Rev. Nice to get a ride out and look at the sea to finish off the day.
Make time tomorrow for the CD…..you won’t, you’ll be slaving in the garden π
Wow, a nice long comment and it published.
ReplyDeleteIt was mostly a good day with quite a bit achieved, I will probably try to do a bit tomorrow.
Quite a lot f stuff has fitted into the storage cupboard. I will probably go to the greenhouse tomorrow and wonder where all the supplies have gone!
That’ll just be your dementia kicking in π
ReplyDeleteYou don’t let any grass grow under your feet , glad you got a hand building the unit it looks like something I could do with so will have a look for one on pay day. I got a lad of rescue plants from Waitrose the other day so I have just done some tubs and another hanging basket with begonias and other pretty little trailers - I have reported my sunflowers and hoping to reposition my cucamelons and cucumbers but I’m pooped just on what I have done so far - I need someone to clear the bottom of the garden and wish the neighbors would trim there hedge back but now we have nests again so don’t want them to - great weather here today but I’m in shade - might go in tub later not been in since your visit xx love ya be good
ReplyDeleteRepotted the sunflowers they haven’t misbehaved π
ReplyDeleteGot the store cupboard at Lidl.
ReplyDeleteBeen clearing the greenhouse so that I can use it for something other than bird food storage.
Glad the sunflowers behaved!
