Beverley today

This morning I went down the road to the. Post box and then cut a few more squares ready for making the patchwork material for the dungarees. But I wanted to take a few squares to Beverley to get some plain material for some squares as I haven’t enough of the Peter Rabbit fabric. I also started reading one of the books that Bel gave to me on Tuesday. It is the first of the Shetland novels and it caught my interest from the start. I love the Shetland series on tv so hoped I would like the books.
We set off for Beverley soon after 10.15, Tina was going to a meeting and I went along for the ride and had a few bits I wanted to do. I got some cards and a present in Paperchase and when I got to the till I had a £5 birthday voucher n my loyalty card, so that was a good start!
I got some plain material in Boyes to make some squares, should be enough for the bodice lining as well. While I was in Boyes I saw a pair of summer pyjamas reduced to £6 so bagged a bargain as well! The fabric will blend in well with the squares I think.
I walked down a road I hadn’t been along before as Tina drove that was and there was a great florist shop!
Didn’t buy anything although they did have some funky stuff and some great signs! I bought a couple more gifts so was quite successful. I messaged
Tina when I was about to have some lunch to tell her I would make my own way home. Took a shot on the way to the bus station.
I didn’t have the inclination to go in the garden when I got home so did a bit of reading and have been sorting though clothes, winter stuff away and summer stuff out, but a bag ready for the charity shop as well.  Will get the rest of the Peter Rabbit squares cut this evening but will leave the plain material until I have calculated how many I will need!

  1. Shetland is a great series and Douglas Henshall is perfect for the main roll. I hope there’ll be another series soon. I think even I might be tempted by the book too. Sounds like you’re enjoying it.
The dungarees are definitely a bit more complex than a “normal” do it yourself job. You never pick anything easy 😊 I do think they’ll look great, and if anyone can get away with wearing Peter Rabbit dungarees it’s you!
A successful shopping trip from the looks of it and vouchers are always a bonus. Summer pyjamas are a bit optimistic. We might not have much of a summer and you’ll need warm flannelette ones instead 😊
Blimey, that’s a lot of stuff to put out and pack away each day at the florists! Does look very eclectic though.
Can’t say I’m surprised you weren’t inclined to do any gardening today. You’ve done rather a lot lately so you’re definitely due a break.
I’m really looking forward to seeing the finished dungarees modelled πŸ˜„

  2. Don’t be holding your breath on the dungarees front!
It was a good trip today, change of scene and got pretty much what I went for.
Visiting day tomorrow so not likely to be in the garden again!
