Garden and gifts!

I have spent most of the day outside. I did start in the front and took before photos, but soon gave up as it was really hot! So those photos when there are some ‘afters’! I then went into the back garden, the rear part of the beds at the bottom were overgrown and weedy, I noticed that they needed attention when I was watering last night. I did get some washing out on the line, which dried beautifully, nice to be getting it ut in the air again.
Took photos of two areas at the back, I worked for hours after these were done but didn’t take more photos. I know by the carts of rubbish though that I got a lot done!

Having a break in the walled garden I had to take a photo of the trees, especially as the laburnum is flowering now.
I was also pleased to take a photo of a dark leaf shrub that is now flowering. I had seen one some time ago and actually bought my one on a Sunday at the boot sale.
As I said, when I had cleared this two areas a bit I moved on to the bushes at the back and also the plants by the summer house and the bed in front of it.

My edging shears aren’t cutting as well now. They need sharpening and probably adjusting. I have used them a fair bit.
The London Pride that I bought tiny pieces of a while ago in now spreading, looking healthy and flowering!
Tina had a rare Saturday off and she and Darren went on a trip to Driffield. Darren got a new bow at the archery place there. Different to his other one, but I won’t explain and get the details wrong!

Tina got me some more material, should be well covered for the dungarees now, not that the spider material is part of them! She also got some plant stands in Lidl which are really good and strong. I think my favourite bonsai tree will go on the bigger one. She also got some plants, it is supposed to get a bit cooler and wet on Monday so will try to get them in then.

I packed everything away outside just after four and had a bath. I was really achy when I go out but I did do a fair bit of digging today!
Watching Eurovision now and we are off to the boot sale in the morning.

  1. You’ve had a busy day. Those two beds you started on would have been enough for me. Well actually one of them would have been enough! They certainly did need doing. The trees look great. So nice to have a variety of colours rather than the usual British brown! Glad to see you had a few rest breaks. It’s been very hot today so you need them. Supposed to rain here tomorrow, so that should cool things down a bit.
Darren’s new bow looks very posh. Stupid question but I suppose you need different arrows for different bows? 🤔
You did very well for pressies too. I foresee lots of sewing in your future 😊
Enjoy Eurovision. Wonder who will come second?

    1. He is going to make some new arrows, he will have them made hopefully before going to the group on Tuesday.
May not get much done in the garden tomorrow. Boot sale, chat with Anya and get dinner, maybe an hour or two in the afternoon! I did do very well, need to get that machine purring!
