Thinking quilting then a walk in Skipsea

Some time ago I bought a metre each of three different upholstery weight fabrics with animal theme thinking maybe I would make a quilt some time. I have been thinking of making a cover for the large dining room table so took lots of measurements and worked out how may squares I would need. Not planning a complicated design! I measured the fabrics and worked out how many squares I could get out of each, the total was a long way short of the number I needed. I sorted out another piece of fabric with trees on and at a push I could get the twenty four centre squares of the blocks. That was still short of what I needed! I wanted to post my patient survey off so called in at Boyes on the way back to see if they had any material that would blend with the ones I had. I think I got the fabric at the Yorkshire Trading post in Driffield and I my have to go there again as there was nothing suitable at Boyes.

I thought I would start cutting out some squares but then Tina said she had a meeting in Skipsea if I wanted to go for a walk around the village. The weather was reasonable so I took the offer. I started by walking out of the village towards Ulrome and turned round wine the pavement stopped!

Passed this amusing sign on the way back to the village.

I turned into a different street and passed the Board Inn, Tina had told me that they offer coffee and cake in the afternoon, it was 2.45pm by then and the offer was until three so I went in. Very quiet and I had a little table out f the way, near the loos too!

After that I continued down that street, passed this brilliant barn.

Had a sit down at a little green, by a well.

Passed the methodist church on the way back to All Saints.

Then up to All Saints where Tina was in her meeting.

The meeting was still going on so I went for a walk away from the church.

When the meeting was finished we came home, a nice afternoon and I had a better walk than I have in a while.
