Morning visit then getting crafty!

I went round to see Bel this morning, she was waiting for me and we walked to see another lady called Yvonne who is on her own and has difficulty getting out and about. We had a good chat and a cuppa. Scruffy the dog took to me, Even on my lap for a bit but I didn’t take the phone so couldn’t take a picture.
After lunch I made a little message holder that I had seen in a magazine. I had bought some felt so that I could make the back today as well.

The veggie box was as good as usual, I used the cauliflower to make cauliflower cheese for dinner.
This afternoon I got the quilt out again and had changed the needle and adjusted the tension as the book advised then got started, hoping that the breaking thread would stop! It didn’t! Then I thought that perhaps the multi coloured thread was the problem. So I changed it for a plain purple thread and started again. Success, no more breaking thread, which made life a lot easier! It is a lot of bulk round the machine.
After dinner I actually finished doing the free motion quilting, so now ai can think about making the edging and getting it finished, not before time!

Have cleared away and will settle for a relaxing evening,

  1. You’re getting quite a collection of old ladies now. You’ll soon have your own little group 😊 Sounds like Scruffy is a nice bonus too.
I think the message holder is lovely. Such a simple idea, but does the job perfectly. Nice material too.
Great veggies again. I’ve not had cauliflower cheese for a very long time. I may be tempted now.
I’m so pleased you finally sorted out the reason for the cotton snapping all the time. You’d tried everything else so it didn’t leave much apart from the machine or the cotton. Good job it was the cheapest option of the two. It’s looking good. You’ll be glad to finally get it done.

  2. I don't often see something in a magazine that I really want to try but I just loved the message hoops.
Good to have the free motion quilting done.
