I did what I thought were very good calculations on how many strips I needed, definitely over compensated as I had so much over I could edge another quilt! Once it was ironed I attached it to the quilt. I can never remember how you make it correct where you start and finish and today ended up doing a straight seem rather than the oblique one that usual! I am now hand sewing down the edge which will take some time, but the end is in sight!
The boot sale starts again tomorrow, we will decide in the morning whether we will go or not. If I am determined to finish the quilt tomorrow it may be another short entry!
It may seem never ending now, but when it’s done you’ll be keen to do another…….maybe 😊 It is a task and a half and really hard work shifting the weight of the quilt around the machine. At least with the hand sewing I don’t suppose there’s so much effort needed. From what I can see of it it looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteYou really should go booting if possible. I’m sure there’ll be lots of bargains to be had. Plus it’ll get you out the house for a while and away from the sewing!
Not so hard to manoeuvre but I have sore fingers now!
ReplyDeleteHopefully we. Will check out the boot sale if the weather is good.
