Quilting and snow!

This morning after helping with the shopping delivery and going out on a couple of errands I got all the cut squares downstairs and started laying them out on the table. I hadn’t got a plan in mind as to how I was going to use the different fabrics but once they were laid out I moved them around and made sure I had an even mix.
I gathers them up carefully and it is quit a pile!
After lunch I went round to look at the icon exhibition in the parish hall.  The course starts soon and I am probably going to attend it. It was interesting to see the different icons ad styles. Soon after that it began to snow.
I then started to lay out the two third blocks. I worked out that I would only have to cut them back if I made twelve more full blocks. These are laid out wrongly as the centre trees need to be on the right, but I will make sure I get them right when sewing them, fingers crossed!
The snow fell steadily for a while but didn’t get very thick!

One assembled block. I have actually completed six of them now.
When the blocks are sewn I will be laying them out again and moving them around and then have to label them in rows, as you don’t want to be unpicking when it is long rows!

  1. The protector is coming on well. Good job you’ve got an eye for patterns! I like the red centres, it sets it off nicely. Such a lot of laying out to do and so many opportunities to make mistakes! I’d definitely be taking photos and writing it all down to keep track of it all. I’ll stick to electronics, it’s easier 😊
The garden looks good with a bit of snow covering it. I know it’s not easy to get around on and it makes everywhere cold, but it does look nice ⛄️

  2. It is good to feelike getting on with a project, think I have been in the doldrums a bit recently.
It does look pretty when it shows, just hope it doesn't freeze tonight!
