Today went off with Tina to visit Filey Bird Park. A bit like yesterday will just post photos with the occasional comment. I took well over seventy photos so have been deciding on what to add otherwise it would take me forever to write the post, let alone rad it!
This willow walk is new.
I love the rheas and more pics later as we walked round twice!
This bird was eating a piece of apple so daintily!
We asked a gardener the name of this plant, it is a flowering pineapple and is a bulb. Tina looked up nd it seems there is only one company in the uk that sells them!
This parrot was having great fun playing with the bell!
He was a handsome fellow!
We went to Eastfield garden centre where we had a tasty lunch and I bought some bulbs for a change! Also got a new door mat, will take a photo for tomorrow.
I have been out this evening and spent over an hour in the garden, so a pretty full day.
I do like hedgehogs, although they are a flea ridden! Nice to have in the garden though. Are they the ones that eat the slugs everyone hates?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great little trip you had. Some fantastic pictures. As you say you don’t need a great deal of text, it’s just nice to enjoy the pics. Reasonably nice weather for a day out too. Considering it’s a bird park they have a good selection of animals. The rhea is my favourite pic I think, it looks really goofy in the first pic of it.
You even managed to sneak in an insect shot too. Are you going to be sending for a flowering pineapple bulb? I know you have a compulsion to buy bulbs so a couple more won’t make much difference 😊
Sounds like a good day altogether with a nice lunch thrown in. Hopefully the hour in the garden this evening was an easy one.
I think hedgehogs probably do eat slugs which has to be good. The bird park is a great place to visit, family run and always making improvements. Too much to take photos of though!
