Back to the boot sale, Darren got some jeans and a useful little storage unit and some of the drinks that he likes. I got some audio books now being sold for 50p each, probably because they are tapes but I have a decent tape machine, also a sign which really fit the bill at the moment and Darren spotted a great little bag mirror and it was only a pound.
I was going to rake the lawn as it was mowed yesterday, but as it turned hot I thought better of it. Did go and tidy up the greenhouse a bit and watered the bonsai trees. Indoors I have done some chores watched the Grand Prix and got the dinner. Will watch Vera in a bit. Sitting after dinner with Darren and Tina Pandora got on my lap, very unusual for her to sit on me downstairs. Problem was in is fine when I have he legs on my rest upstairs but I couldn’t have her on my legs for long in that position with no support for my knees.
About time I added another obscure word from the fabulous calendar.
Mendicant (n.): One who gets by from begging; a clochard.
(adj.): Prone to asking for handouts.
An early start for you both then. But you got some bargains, so it must be true what they say about early worms. The sign is very appropriate for you! A good selection of stories there. They’ll keep you occupied on long winter nights when you don’t fancy doing anything else.
ReplyDeleteGlad you didn’t bother raking the lawn. Gardening should be illegal on Sundays.
Not like Pandora to sit on you when you’re downstairs. Doesn’t actually look that comfortable with your legs stretched that far.
That quilt deserved a first prize. I remember you get the material from America, and when you made it. It’s lovely, and they obviously thought so too.
Must remember the word mendicant for when I go into town. There’s one particular oik who deserves to be called it! Yes, that one 😊
Enjoy Vera.
I know just who you mean!
ReplyDeleteVera was good, Pandora was on my lap for the whole two hours!
