Beverley, for no particular reason but it was too hot to do any gardening! I walked all the way down the town to the Minster, I had to lean against somebodies car to get most of it in!
I did get closer as the carvings are quite lovely.
The rest of the building is having serious work done!
This great sign was on the railings opposite.
And this public house on the way back to the town.
A bit depressing to see this shop up and running in early September!
I had a coffee and sat inside as it was very hot! Then I walked back through the town and got an ice cream and took it to the remembrance garden by St Mary’s church. I took these two pictures from the same bench but moved a bit on the second one to block the sun with the monument, quite a difference!
As I was leaving to head back to the bus station I noticed the sunlight though the two windows in the church.
Then one last shot of the very attractive church.
I didn’t actually buy anything except for my refreshments although I did go in the antique centre and a couple of other shops. I saw Lesley with her friend in the antique centre, she doesn’t have a car so she was enjoying her trip out.
I got home a bit after five and had dinner and watered the front garden and a couple of plants in the back garden that keep wilting.
Going with Darren tomorrow when he puts his car in for MOT and service. On the outskirts of Hull so we will catch the bus into the city.
Bird food, that makes a change, not! 😊 They’re so spoiled. You should have the fattest birds in the country.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your bloods are fine. Shame the doctors are too damn lazy and idle to get back to proper work and heal people! Lazy overpaid gits!
Great pics of the Minster. Plenty of light and a nice blue sky make a big difference. That’s a lot of scaffolding. Bet that’s costing a few quid!
Can’t believe the Christmas shops are starting to open already! Won’t hold my breath for Christmas anyway, we’ll probably be in lockdown again!
Definitely an ice cream day today. So the trip out was worth it for ice cream and photo opportunities. The two pics of the church are very different. Surprising what a difference moving a few feet makes. I like the one with the sun shining through the window, but I’d cut car and lamppost off the bottom. All in all Beverly is a nice place to visit, specially when the sun shines. Hopefully tomorrow will be another nice day. You could end up on another little trip out.
I am pleased I made the effort to go out, a reasonable amount of walking and different photos. Fairly busy there but most people keep there distance.
