Not sure what I will do with them, should be on show, maybe mounted on a piece of wood. Don’t know what I will do with the three penny bits either, 15 for a pound, but no 1946 ones as apparently they are rare! Bit like me then!
I also t got a plant to put in a pot. I took a photo a large version of it, the leaves go almost black and it has pinky white flowers in the summer and berries in the autumn. I also got a stepping machine but haven’t taken a photo of it.
I did a bit more to the jigsaw this morning then after lunch I made a start on the last piece of the walled garden before watching the Grand Prix. The cats came out with me as usual.
The race was exciting and the crash was really scary when you saw the replay. I got on with dinner and after we had eaten I went back out to finish off the work I started. Even potted up the new plant, it is between the two old chairs at the back.
When I took some stuff up to the garden bin I saw that one of the funky dahlias had opened.
I also spotted what I thought was an unusual stone in the wall but when I touched it a realised it was a weathered wooden support.
Watching Endeavour now!
Some nice little bargains there. The coasters are lovely and as you say should be displayed. I think three penny bits are great. I always used to like having them in my pocket in ye olden days. They made some silver ones at some point, can’t remember what the occasion was though. The old coinage was so much nicer than the plain old stuff we have now. So much for progress!
ReplyDeleteBlue looks quite interested in the new tree. Hopefully not having thought of climbing it!
The walled garden looks really lovely now. A pleasure to sit in an relax. I think I’d be having my breakfast out there on the days the weather permits it. A lot of work, but definitely worth it.
The bit of wood in the wall looks very interesting. Amazing what the weather can do to things like that. It’s even go a rusty nail in it to add more interest. Again, the photographer’s eye coming into play.
Enjoy a bit of telly with your feet up. I think you’ve earned it.
Not a bad day, good to get the walled gardenoonibg a bit more inviting, will try not to let it get as bad in the future
ReplyDeleteI loved the three penny bits and farthings and silver sixpence, as you say much more interesting than the modern stuff.
