After I had watched the athletics for a while this afternoon I decided to take a walk. My leg had been painful in the night and had continued during the day. I did wonder if my lack of activity this week was making my knees stiffen up a bit. It was spitting when I went out and was soon raining quite hard, but it was lovely and very quiet! A couple of pictures in the memorial garden as I went through, and just a general view and one of the new benches that have been placed near the war memorial which seems very appropriate.
I had a drink at the cafe in the leisure centre, but I sat on a bench which was not as dry as I thought it was! You can hardly see the sea but not a bad lookout.
A couple of very quiet pictures of the beach!
The little funfair was pretty quiet too!
I was quite damp but happy to be out.
Passed this rather lovely front garden on the way back.
A this one in the memorial garden on my way home.
I really wish I could get into a ‘crafty’ mood, but it just isn’t happening at the moment. Maybe tomorrow!
Well you’ve done a bit more today than you have of late. A slow walk to the sea is always good, even in the rain. Photos of the seaside on a gloomy day are quite nice I think, and very British. I quite like taking pics after it’s rained as you can sometimes get some great reflections in the roads and pavements. Looks like you had the whole of Hornsea to yourself. The locals obviously aren’t as hardy as you are. You do look soaked in that pic. I can see the rain on your glasses and running off your nose 😊
ReplyDeletePandora does look a bit perilously perched on your leg. I can imagine her slipping and sinking all claws in to steady herself! Bet you’d say “oh flip” 😊
I’m sure you’ll start to get the urge to do a bit of crafting before too long. Just go with the flow for now.
I enjoyed the leisurely walk and I quite like walking in the rain, people that were out were hiding in sheltered places or had umbrellas up so I was pretty much alone most of the time!
DeleteShe does often get the claws out when she sinks down to my feet, and when I try to move them she starts growling, nice natured cat!
