I was up late this morning and took is easy, had a shower and did a bit of the jigsaw, bit is accurate, it really is a challenge. Darren drove me up to Freeport and we had a coffee before we went into the pottery place. Darren just came to look. I had seen a wren in the window a couple of weeks ago and had gone armed with a picture and my own paint brushes! There were no wrens on the shelves where you chose what to paint so they got the one out of the window for me. I didn’t find the place too welcoming but sat for about an hour and a half painting the wren. You are allowed two hours of painting time so that was okay. I asked for a cup of tea and got a cappuccino! I left my name and phone number and the girl said it will be ready in about a week, they will give me a call. I took a photo, the colours should be much stronger as they always look pale before firing.I had some lunch before I walked home. The first roundabout has a very colourful flower display on it.
The fire station has had the doors painted, very eye catching,
It was damp in the air on the way back, not really rain, but the wind was quite cool.
I tried to do some of the jigsaw, it really is a stinker and the only guide is the picture on the bottom of the box! At least the edge is complete now.
I have been to see Sarah and David for a catch up this evening and giving the jigsaw a rest for today!
I’m sure the wren will look good once fired. I know how much of a difference there is once it comes out the kiln. It’s been a while since you did one of those. Judging from your comment about them not being very welcoming I’m guessing it might be a long while until you do anything else! It made a change for you today though, and is soooo much better than gardening 😊
ReplyDeleteThat’s a very colourful roundabout. They do seem to make an effort to make things look nice.
That puzzle is a nightmare. You’ll finish it though. Bet you’re still cursing Darren!
Well a week away and a bank holiday, so I suppose it’s all back to normal tomorrow?
Was a bit disappointed with the pottery place, Donna and Sandy were so welcoming and helpful in Scarborough. I am hoping I haven lost my touch, so to speak!
ReplyDeleteThe beds and baskets around the town are well cared for and colourful. I will battle on with the jigsaw, at the moment that is the plan anyway,
