More active today

I had a pretty rough night but knee pain was only one part of it, my hand have been playing up lately and last night the arthritis in one of my thumbs was really painful, also had a bit of trapped wind so all on all it was a bit of a struggle! But I have felt okay today and have done a fair bit of walking. Before I went to post a few letters and get some lunch a package arrived, my Lakeland parcel for the American family. A great hat and scarf this year, which as it was a wet and miserable day they came in handy straight away!
This afternoon I went out again to hand delivery some cards locally, I got to the sea front and then along to the Floral Hall as one of th ladies lives just near it. She had a really nice nativity scene in a small window near the front door.
I cut through the Floral Hall car park to the sea, took another pick of the seagull sculpture which I love.
Not too many people braving the beach, mit was a dull and miserable day.

I stopped a Hucklebury’s for a drink and sat by the new benches and lights.
The lights literally turned on immediately after I had taken that picture!
I had one more card to deliver but it was in a different direction and I was getting tired so will do that another day. I have topped 9,000 steps today, easily the most I have achieved since the surgery.
Tina sent for a spray that is supposed to help you sleep so will be trying that tonight!
My new set of the lovely colouring pencils arrived today, so now I will have an even better selection of colours.
Hopefully being more active and the spray will mean a better night, fingers crossed!

  1. Sorry you had a rough night, but I suppose it not just being knee pain is a good thing, in a weird sort of way! Sounds like you’ve made the most of the day anyway. 9000 steps is pretty good for an old fogey with a gammy leg 😊 Way more than I’ve done today!
The front doesn’t look evenly inviting today, although it’s much better than sitting in getting bored. Plus you got a drink into the bargain and a look at the cute seagull. Hard not to smile when you look at that. Hope you didn’t sit on one of those benches or you’ll be adding rheumatism to the list of things that keep you awake! Talking of sleep, I’ll be very interested to hear how you get on with that spray. Worth a try.
Like your new hat and scarf. The scarf should keep you warm, it’s huge! Or are you just shrinking? 😊
The pencils will get a fair bit of use I’m guessing. I know how much you liked the others. They must be nearly worn out now with all the use you’ve put them to.

  2. It feels better for being more active today, I didn’t think I would feel inclined this morning, especially as the weather was none too special either.
The scarf is huge, very snuggly too, and of course I do love a hat!
Watching great Johnny Cash programs now.
