Challenging the knee!

I went early to the bakery which was good as they were putting out the fresh rolls and there was no queue! I felt like going out so caught the bus up to Freeport knowing there was no bus back for two hours! I walked past all the shops and got a take away drink before heading home, I didn’t actually go in any shops. The wonderfully naff nativity is back, no hymns playing today though.
I decided to walk home, it is over a mile so a big test for the knee. I did stop for rests at a couple of benches. By the first one was a tree with winter blossom!
My knee was beginning to twinge a bit just before I got to the next bench, so was glad of a sit down! Took a picture of the sky from there.
I used the ice packs when I got in and haven’t done anything too strenuous for the rest of the day.
I can add the pictures of the gingerbread house now.

I have not felt too Christmassy so far this year so will put up a picture of my little wooden tree from last year!

  1. Not sure if you’re good or bad for walking back from Freeport. Good for getting exercise or bad for stressing the knee! At least you had a couple of stops though, so that’s good. I’m sure you’d go totally crazy if you couldn’t do things like that occasionally. You’re not one for sitting about at any time really. Hope you don’t suffer with the knee tonight though. The ice packs and rest should compensate for the walk.
That nativity really is naff! Love the stable made from four fence panels too 😊 At least you got a bit of different scenery to take pics.
The gingerbread house is lovely. I’d definitely eat all the sweets off it after Christmas, not sure about the actual house though. Hope you’re going to get the tree up again this year, it is nice, and you put a lot of work into it. Definitely worth setting up each year.

  2. It was worth the trip to witness the nativity! Hopefully if I get up there again they will have the hymns playing to finish the scene!
The gingerbread houses sound easy to assemble in the instructions, but actually erecting it and it not collapsing is quite difficult! Not sure what the treat the gingerbread with to make it last and not break easily! The sweets will be tasty though.
