Family leaf attack!

This morning I got the marzipan on four of the cakes. When I was clearing yesterday I couldn’t find the cake board for the square one, I was sure I had bought one and Tina thinks I did too. Anyway have ordered one to arrive tomorrow so I am surprised I haven’t found the one I thought I had already!
When Tina came home from her services she got changed and the three of us spent some time in the garden collecting leaves! Tina was blowing them out of the flower beds and Darren and I did raking and bagging. We filled another two bags that were crammed full.

After lunch I did a session on the pedal gadget and got a larger surface ready for the jigsaw and competed the edge and made a start.
While I was getting dinner I made a sponge and as I had some left over marzipan used that and some gorgeous black currant jam that the lady in Scotland had given us last week.
When I went out to put the fox food out I took a picture of the church, it was getting misty so it looked quite mysterious but not so much in the photo!
Have watched the Strictly result show, lovely Jason is going home ☹️! Will watch the final Roadkill in a bit.

  1. You’ve done a fair bit again today. The square cake board will definitely turn up once the new one arrives, it’s always the way. You’ll have one for next year ready then. They’re looking scrummy. Soon be Christmas!
Bet the leaf collecting went much easier with three of you doing it. It looks a lot clearer in that second pic. The rake does a grand job too.
Like the look of the sponge, specially with the marzipan on top. Bet that won’t last long! I have made a sponge sandwich for a very long time. Looks like to have some quite big tins.
Enjoy the last episode of your drama.

  2. The sponge has marzipan in the middle as well! I had a small slice to test it, pretty tasty.
It was nice the three of us being out in the garden together, still plenty of leaves to gather but at least I can see where to put some bulbs in the flower beds.
