The remaining leaves on the copper beech were looking lovely in the morning light.
I went into the gardens for a while, pulled up the dead sunflowers and emptied the tomato mini greenhouse. Also did some cutting back of dead flowers in the front. Quite a few tomatoes hidden in amongst the greenery!
I had a couple of trips out to the local supermarkets to try and get marzipan and roll out icing ready for the next cake stage! One more shop to try as after Thursday I will probably be self isolating if all goes well at the pre operation assessment.
The copper beech looked even lovelier when it was in full sun.
I caught the bus up to Freeport this afternoon, bused back too, just an hour up there. Wanted some toiletries before I am not able to go out. A.so called in The Works as we had spotted a jigsaw up there last week, and this one may even educate me a bit,but don’t hold your breath!
May try to do a bit more clearing in the garden tomorrow if the weather holds.
The gate does look a bit sad for itself, but a strategic piece of wood placed here and there should see it as good as new.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you’ve had quite a productive day with several trips out too. make the most of it while you can because if you have to isolate it will be a while before you can do it again. You’ll go stir crazy!
You said you were trying to eat healthily, so at least you’ll have a few tomatoes to add to your diet.
I would say you’ll be glad when you’ve got the Christmas cakes out of the way, but it won’t be long before you’ll be starting them again!
I like the new puzzle, it’s a bit different so it will make a change. Plus you know what the periodic symbol is for gold next time I ask you 😊
Quite a full day in a way,
ReplyDeleteSome walking so trying to keep vaguely active. Do pedal regularly now though
I am sure the guy will soon fix the gate and I hope he is able to do the stair rails.doing the cakes has seemed strange this year, but the whole year has been strange. We are still not sure we will actually be able to deliver them!
Looking forward to the puzzle, as you say, I may just have some symbols stick in my brain!
