All systems go - with fingers crossed!

By the time we got to the hospital this morning I was a little anxious but trying to keep it under control. I was seen promptly but what a plethora of questions before the testing started. Also a days worth of reading material! Blood pressure was on the high side but not high enough to stop the surgery going ahead. BMI was just about okay but hopefully that won’t be checked again. Have a date for surgery, 21st November and have to be at the hospital for seven in the morning. Best of it t I cannot eat after. 2 am, no problem, but no drinking after six but they say you should drink plenty of water. So will have to get up at around five to get some glasses of water down! So now I won’t be going out of the house and garden again until I am on the road to recovery. Complete self isolation for the last three days, after the Covid test. Sensible social distancing etc from now on. Tina did drive home via the bridge, there is work going on so she drove along and then back, but good to see one of my favourite places today. She also drove by the sea before we got home, but didn’t take any pictures there.

I haven’t done a lot more today and had some take away with  Darren and Tina, a day off from the being careful but will get back into it tomorrow. I have done three sessions on the pedaller though. We missed the Ringtons man this morning but he called back this afternoon. Got a great jigsaw, a 1000 piece and a very good price, can do it when I am recuperating. It has information on the back so think it will be fun to do!

I hope you have noticed the positivity here, but still have the fingers firmly crossed!

  1. It’s great that everything went ok and your on track for the op. I’m sure you’re going to find the isolating and staying at home hard to start with but I know you’ll do everything you’re supposed to. Just realised the 21st is a Saturday. Not that it makes any difference, but I always associate ops etc on a weekday basis. Stupid really 😊 Glad you got to see the bridge and the sea today. Tina will have to take pics of things and send them to you for a while.
The jigsaw looks nice. Hopefully that’ll keep you occupied for a couple of days when you start it.
Definitely noticed the positivity, keep it up 😊 The countdown has started!

  2. Just got to really make even more effort to stay away from infection, and keep up exercise and weight control!
Great to see the bridge, didn’t get out of the car, opened the window when we stopped to turn round!
I intend to keep occupied, will try to get in the garden as well.
